A massage modality which accesses the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, or connective tissue. As a more focused type of massage, deep tissue is recommended for the release of chronic muscle tension or knots (adhesion). Deep Tissue should not hurt, though more pressure is sustained than during a classic Swedish massage. Please, feel free to voice if the pressure is too much for you so that a more therapeutic amount may be applied. Comfort is key to your healing process! Know that you may feel sore for a day or two following your session. Soreness is caused by the release of toxic build up in the muscle tissues and can be eliminated or avoided all together by drinking plenty of water following your session.
